The International Wildlife Museum is always looking for intelligent, enthusiastic individuals who are interested in volunteer opportunities. Education Department Assistant: As a volunteer in the museum’s education department, you will have the opportunity to do a variety of things based on your interests and our needs at the time you volunteer. Past volunteers have done everything from assisting with general administrative work to caring for our live reptiles and amphibians. As a museum event draws near, volunteers are crucial in the preparation and planning needed to make the event successful. Must be 15 years of age. We will train you on an as need basis.

Museum Docent: Our Docents are responsible for conducting tours for adult and student groups. Tours last approximately 1hr & 15min and must be geared towards the appropriate age group. There are plenty of opportunities to engage students in meaningful inquiry and exploration in every area of the museum. Interactive carts scattered throughout the museum help accentuate various concepts and animal groups. Commitment to our natural history training program is required for this position. Docents must conduct at least three tours each month. Ability to communicate with all age groups from Kindergartners to Senior Citizens and adjust tour accordingly is important. |
